Tonic Salon
240 SW Washington St, Albany

Find your stylist once, and stop looking.

Cuts, color, highlights, waxing and lashes on Washington Street in downtown Albany. What people mention about this place is usually not the salon at all, it is whose chair they sit in. Some of them have been coming back for years.

Downtown, a couple of minutes off the main block.

There are two different phone numbers for this salon published online right now, and I could not tell which one is yours. The Albany Downtown Association directory and one salon index both list (541) 908-4942. Two other directories both list (541) 619-5591.

I left the button blank rather than guess. Tell me the right one and it becomes a tap-to-call, which is the main thing this page is for. The wrong one sitting on a live page is how a person who wanted an appointment ends up calling somebody else.

The work

This is the part a salon gets judged on.

These frames are empty because I could not get at your photographs, not because you do not have any. You have uploaded photos to your own Google listing already. I just could not pull them without sitting in front of the listing, and your Facebook page would not open for me either.

Most of these fill themselves from pictures you already own, so this is a short conversation and not a photo shoot. The storefront shot I can take myself on a walk past. Before anything goes live, anybody whose face is in a photo has to be fine with it, and that includes clients in the chair and any kids.

This list came out of your own reviews and your directory listings, so it is the short version. Tell me the real one and I will write it in your words. The useful part is usually what you do that nobody expects, and what you get asked for all day and do not do.

No prices anywhere, on purpose. Nothing is published online and this trade quotes per head.

Who is in the chairs

People ask for these three by name.

Three names, nothing else next to them, because three names is genuinely all I could establish. All three came out of your reviews, where customers name them without being asked. One reviewer said she had followed Peggy for seven years. Another said Megan is the only person who can cut her son's hair.

I did not write who does what, because I would be guessing in front of the people who work here. Tell me who is currently taking clients, whether anyone is missing off this list, and what each of them is best at. That block is the single biggest thing this page is missing.

What people said

Two of these, word for word.

“From all hair needs coloring, cutting, and waxing. Very friendly very flexible!”
May 2023
“Megan is the only person that can cut my sons hair correctly and make him look so handsome! She’s so professional and very friendly!”

Real reviews, both of them, no names attached and nothing invented. I found them on directory sites rather than on Google, so worth a glance before this goes anywhere public.

One thing worth knowing about your listing. Google surfaces three reviews and the three it picks are all seven to nine years old. It sorts by what it thinks is relevant, not by date, so that is Google's choice and not a picture of your business. Newer ones are sitting behind it. These two are the proof.

Check these hours before I put them anywhere real. They are the ones two directories publish, and Google backs up two of the cells independently. Three sources agreeing is good. It still is not you saying so, and hours are the one thing on a page that sends somebody to a locked door.

The amenities line came off the same directories. Cut anything on it that is not true.
